we bought farmer sausage for dinner, but we didn't need it!!!

Saturday. time to get some more miles on the canoe and also put my fishing license to use.

Tom and i loaded up and were on the lake by 10:45. The forestry site was pretty full, but we didn;t need a tent spot, just a parking spot. it was such nice weather it was no surprise there were so many people there, but it did mean there were quite a few boats on the lake.

we paddled to an area we had some success in past years.  i like paddling.

it wasn't long before we started catching fish.  i caught about 4 and tom 2 or 3.  most were pretty small, but i did get this one that was pretty decent size.  a little over 2 pounds maybe.

dinner is caught

most of the fish we threw back because they were so small.  fun anyway thought.

the sky to the west got sunny around 12:30.
We saw a family of otters,m which was pretty cool.  then, on the way back, we heard a splashing and moooing kinda sound.  we paddled towards it and watched a moose eat leaves for about half an hour.  don't think anyone in motor boats saw that.

there is a moose.  its hard to see, but its there.
Then back to the truck and back home.  rita was waiting patiently for tom.  once they headed home and i got cleaned up, it wasn't long before dinner was on the bbq.

there will be more fishing for sure this year.  you too could be bbqing rainbow trout for dinner.
