okanagan mountain and divide lake.
Canada day we decided to hike up the mountain goat trail, into okanagan mountain park and spend the night at divide lake. i may have promised an easy 2-3 hour hike. i was right about the 2-3 hours. not about the easy. it's called the mountain goat trail for a reason. that is was 38 degrees in a burnt out mountain didn't keep us cool at all.

return to pinnacle lake
as a mad send off for mary, who was certainly one of the gang, the four of us decided to hike to pinnacle lake. it was also kinda a send off to summer and a chance to do some awesome.
so mary, kris, louie and i piled into louies truck and headed past cherryville and to the trailhead for the 7 km-ish hike to pinnacle lake. these are their stories...

the twin lakes adventure
after such an epic trip into the monashees and pinnacle lake a few weeks ago, it was time to go again. this time to twin lakes. Tom, Patrick and I have been there before, but we didn't have tents or plans to stay the night.
this time, my bro Mark, Kris and I were the intrepid adventurers. Mark got in Friday night, just in time to party on my deck with some hitchhikers i picked up. we welcomed mark to my house in proper style... with extra old stock.
Saturday morning Anna dropped off kris, we packed up the truck and off we went. ok, it wasn't quite that organized, but close.

sunstar silverday. i mean silverstar sunday.
Sunday was sick. I wanted to spend some time with my wife and continue my eternal quest to check out fire watch towers and other adventur-esque locations. Found a way to do it all. It was awesome.
We headed to Silver Star for some hiking. Started off riding the chairlift to the top. that was pretty awesome. At the top, the very 1st thing, was the old fire tower. How sweet it is.

a saturday trip up spion kopje
a nice sunny saturday morning. tom and i decided to hike up spion kopje near my house. not much to say. nice trail, not many people. hailstorm on the way down.
good times.
They are thinking about turning this area into a park. that would keep the dirt bikes off it, and more importantly, keep the crazy development of houses at the bottom at bay.
we were below the snow line, but not by much, as you can tell from the mountains across the lake.
Adventures don't need to have 4wd. another good weekend in the books.
good times.

spion kopje. near my house. with my brother. and naomi. and snow.
Not far from my house (like 5 km) is spion kpoje. its a small mountain with some houses at the bottom. It's not a long hike, but there are tons of trails. It was a great place to spend the afternoon.

its a place i've been quite a few times before, usually on my bike. we stuck to the wider trails, but still had a big climb time.
