back to the cabin

it's august.  sure there are fire bans, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun.  in a sweet cabin, on a sweet lake, with awesome all around.  so thats what brian, wayne and i did.

As usual, it didn't take long to get there.  the road is a bit better in some spots, a bit worse in others.  actually the only reason we ever stopped was to shoot dinner.  and once we got there it was good as ever.

We got settled in right away.  that means fishing, cooking, eating and other camping type activities.  we didn't need to get any wood ready, since there was a fire ban.  we felt like we had tons of extra time.  wayne and i went fishing; something we did a lot of this weekend.

Some highlights were the 5 minutes of rain we got.  thats something we haven;t seen in over a month.  also, we ate some very local prairie chicken.  mm good.  some of it i stuffed with stovetop and wrapped in bacon on the bbq.  we had a surf and turf meal of more chicken and some trout that wayne and i picked up. it was a very solid weekend.
