it's not far from summerland on roads that slowly get worse. The views got better and better though. I drew the most logical looking route from google earth and backroads Mapbook and stuck them on the garmin. i don't think we made a wrong turn once.
the end of the drive. |
Near the top, the road got a bit trickier. i pushed on a bit further than i should of before calling it a parking spot. I knew it wasn't far to the top. less than 1 km. so off i went, louie chilled at the truck.
I could probably have driven to the top, and might have had a go at it if i wasn't the only truck.
The top was surprisingly wooded, compared to other lookout places i've been. The tower was long gone, but a shagg carpeted interior snowmobile shack was in it's place. I didn't really go in.
I knew louie was waiting, so i took a few pictures, looked around, and headed back down.

The drive back had the same cool views, and we made a big note to try and adventure to the massive wind turbine towers we saw not far away.
Summer is not over yet, but the forest fires are a game changer, so we haven't been out too much. Not sure where to head next, but you should come.
