Sunday. got monday off and i got friends who want to adventure. more specifically, tom kris and steve and i decided to head up to beaver lake for the night. camp in one of my favourite camp spots, do some fishing and some paddling. all good.
The 1st problem was can i get 2 canoes on the roof of the truck.

2x4s and ratchet straps. all good here officer. |
turns out, with 2 long 2x4s and 8 ratchet straps, anything is possible. the redneck roof rack version 1.0 was born.
We left the almost totally empty forestry site around 2 and paddled off towards the island. it was hot and sunny and a good amount of windy.
Kris and steve and cruise the dog took pen15 (the 15 foot penwood canoe) and tom and i in the ripper.

We got to the island and set up ptryy quick. the lake and the fish were calling. following the rule, we all had our own tents. 4 guys = 4 tents.

set up. |
We spent the rest of the afternoon fishing, and tom and i caught enough fish for us all to have some dinner, besides tons of pork.

the boys |
The rest of the evening was spent putting 750 pellets though the pellet gun 1 at a time. we all got it pretty dialed considering the handicaps we had.

It was a super calm and warm evening with zero bugs. pretty awesome.
The morning was pretty casual. i was 1st up and not long after we all got mobilized.

more pellets were shot, and more lines cast, but no more fish were caught. its all good though.
