Friday my chainsaw mill came in. i promised kris i'd help him move saturday, and so the mill sat in the back of my truck. About 4:00 we are enjoying a post-moving beverage and decided "hey... screw the pouring rain, lets go try that thing now!" so we did.
We headed up postil rd a few kms to a place we knew there was some sweet wood just getting board. hahaha. board...
step 1. screw a 2x4 to the top of the log
|
mounted 2x4 guide |
step 2. realize that you have to start from the middle of the log because of how you placed the 2x4. there should be a step before step 1. check that the 2x4 is going in the right place. we skipped that step.
|
kris doing some cuttin |
step 3. cut
|
and more cutting |
once there was 1 cut, we moved the 2x4 over 3 fingers and screwed it down again.
|
how boards are born |
step 4. be done.
|
there it is. |
it took just over 5 minutes for a 10 foot cut. this thing is gonna see some major action soon i predict.
best $50 i spent last week.
Not only is my man handsome, he's also handy!
