kris's birthday... in my new (to me) wall tent. yea.

Kris's birthday.  Also, the weekend after i scored a wall tent and stove off the local internet classifides.  Kris's party seemed like an epic time to try the tent.

Kris, Brian, Mary and I headed up Bear Creek rd about noon:30 to find a spot to call home for the weekend.  Others would be joining us later.  We got about 11k up the road, found a little side road with a minty spot at the end.

1st thing 1st, get the ten up.  it was a bit of a mission but with 4 of us figuring it out it wasn't bad.  lots of pales though.  and rope.  and pegs.

once it was up, we chainsawed and smoked celebratory cigars.  it was manly.  even mary was manly.

Soon others came.  Mike and Steve showed up with a semi-full but not so much keg of beer.  Natasha and wayne came by as well.  it was starting to go down.

the fire got going thanks to mike and kris's wood collecting and cutting skills, and we were ready to settle in.

We got the stove set up in the tent, and fired it up too.  everything worked awesome.

There was some midnight hiking under the full moon.  it got chilly, but not cold at all.  maybe 3 or 4 degrees at night.

A very successful weekend for the most part.  Happy birthday kris.

Not sure whats next, but the wall tent proved itself well and is good to go again. Spring is on full volume here in the okanagan, and thats excellent.  canoes and fishing will be a thing soon.  but lets not rush it.
