lookout below

mandatory stop at oyama lookout on the way up.
today we had time for a little day trip. why not go somewhere epic? we weren't sure exactly where that would be when we left, but we sure did find it.

we started up oyama lake road.  we stopped to talk for a second at an intersection and realized that none of us knew where the turn off went.  turns out it went up a steep road of baby-head-sized rocks and finished at the top of a pretty epic lookout.

the top was just off the high rim trail and at the base of a microwave tower.  we could see all the way to the selkirk mountains near revelstoke.

looking east into the selkirks
North was another good view.  The north end of okanagan lake, kal lake and swan lake a bit further.

i brough the beam machine and we whipped up a few boards that became benches.  they are now air drying in my shed for a future cool project.

making wood.

orange lookout rock and a fluffy cloud

what a great day.  got some boards made, shot some plastic army guys and just had a time being in a new awesome place.

kinda got a spare camera up and running, so some of these pics are mine.  thanks to mary for the rest.
