ainsworth anniversary

Friday, I took the day off.  I had been decided a while ago that Christine and I would spend out 10th anniversary at Ainsworth Hotsprings.  and so it was.

The drive there through cherryville and nakusp was awesome, as i expected.  it was our first time past nakusp and in new denver and kaslo.  what an awesome place.

big lakes, big mountains, big awesome

The hotsprings themselves had a crazy tunnel that some miners carved long ago to try and get more water into the pools.  The big pool was like a comfy bathtub full of people.  The caves and upper pool were much warmer.  Inside the tunnel was really hot.  The water obviously, but the hot air made it like a sauna hotspring.  a warm combination on a 30 degree and sunny day.

It was so warm and nice all day.  not many bugs in the evenings.  We toured around the beach one evening and spent breakfast time at fruit of the moon.  it's a place.  nothing to do with underwear.
a lake kinda evening.

Saturday we went into Kaslo after a morning soak.  Pretty cool little town.  We ate at some cool little restuarants, walked along the beach and did some geocaching.

rock labyrinth we found on the beach
There is a pretty extensive trail around the town.  On our way to a geocache we crossed this cool red bridge over the river.

We also saw one of these...

One of the coolest parts was the old paddle wheel boat.  It was pretty appropriate that 10 years ago we got married in the selkirk marine museum, with a boat that was very similar.

where do you buy "asian cook #4" statues?

i'd cruise sweet mountain rivers in this thing for sure

I guess this is our offical anniversary issue photo.  i'm happy, but just squinty makes me look mean.

happy 10 years
