crooked lake with louie and rick

With a spare day, louie, rich and I decided to head out and do some canoeing. I put the canoe on the truck, met up with the other doods, and we headed up beaver lake rd. We ended up near where pat and tom and i camped on may long, but a little further. last time i was at this spot, there was a huge party raging on. this time, we were the only ones there.

We walked along a dam that separated beaver lake from crooked lake.  We'd been on beaver before, but never on this part of crooked lake.

We hopped in pen 15 and away we went.  up the small lake.  we did some fishing and louie caught a small rainbow trout.  then we let it go.  We got out to stretch our legs at a familiar island campsite between deer lake and crooked lake.

The road was a little rough in spots, but overall not too bad.  less mud than last time down it.

It was a sweet day.  I great way to spend what might be one of the last sunny and hot days of summer.  More adventures planned.  you should come.
